Narcissists all around

Do we love anybody else more than ourselves?? Or for that matter, do we ever really love anybody else ...
Mothers....well, they are an exception :)

  3. What is completely loving someone else? Or for that matter what is completely loving? What are the conditions, clauses? Who defines the rules? Us or the society or the established standards and people? Is there a specific guideline? Ya jiski jo shraddha ho vo kar le? Ya jis se jo ban pade vo kar le? :P

  4. WHAT do you mean by "love completely"? loving everything about a person? even the negative things?

  5. This from 'Anonymous 1' (short - A1)

Hmm.. I think its poss to love oneself completely. And its necessary, as a first step, in order to love others.

Other note - agree with the mother's love part.

@Chetna - If you love someone completely, maybe you will not see anything about them as negative :)

  6. @Anonymous2(A2): I don't know what completely loving is. But I know if I love someone more or less than the other...
I don't think there are set rules or if you can quantify it...but I think we can definitely test ourselves...
Consider a person whom you say you love...do you feel happy when s/he is happy, sad when s/he is sad...do you wish success for that person from your heart...what will you be willing to sacrifice for him/her...ask yourself these questions and I believe you'll get the answers...
A lot of misconceptions about oneself can be cleared by them...I found a lot of so called 'love' around us is nothing but a "Give & Take" relationship...

  7. @Chetna: As I said, I don't know what completely loving is...and I don't think we love negative points about anybody...not even about ourselves, but we accept them and move on...that sure is love :) :P

  8. @A1: agree with you on "I think its poss to love oneself completely. And its necessary, as a first step, in order to love others."

Your comments always make me think about stuff I usually don't think before posting here :).Thanks a lot for that...

  10. Nice post aviral, i doubt who bought in this concept of love.
Humans do care, dislike/like, get jealous from other, but love...lets define love first, then exploring it further makes sense !

  11. @A1: between you and I, I don't think it is...:) don't know about others...:P :)
@Anonymous(A3): hmm...maybe,but do we really need to define it??? Isn't it meant to be felt...we can all have our own definitions for it...if I were to describe it, I would say Love is Unselfish!! and mother's love...the purest

  12. Love is always biased.
Similar to the fact that you always wrote mother's love. I am surprised why no one talks about father's love.

  13. @Anonymous:Love is of course biased...If we were to love each and everybody alike, we would be gods , won't we?
I was expecting someone would raise this question (father's love). Nobody can love a person more than his parents. It was just that I was talking in relative terms .
I believe there is only one quality which places mother's love on a higher pedestal. It is devoid of any ego ...which might not be the case with fathers....:)

  14. @Aviral:
Agree with you on 'ego' thing.
